Grounding techniques that can help one overcome Overthinking and attain balance

Overthinking (~lost in thoughts, absent mindedness, living more in the head) is a common issue faced by many individuals in todays fast pace life.  Following is a list of some Grounding techniques that help an individual to anchor the self and calm down: 1. Sitting with spine straight and breathing calmly in Prithvi mudra. 2. Rhythmmic breathing exercises: For example: 25 Healing breaths ( URL ) in Prithvi mudra. 3. Wellness routines:  a. Massaging self ( Abhyanga ) before going to bed or 1 hour before taking a bath with base oils like Sesame ( Til ) oil or medicated oils like Santulan Abhyanga oil S (to be used in winter), Santulan Abhyanga oil C (to be used in summer). b. Foot massage ( Padabhyanga ) before going to bed using plain cow's ghee or medicated ghee like Santulan Padabhyanga ghrita. c. Walking barefoot in grass in a garden.

Daily regimen (Dincharya): Gandusha and Kavala

Both Gandusha and Kavala are important parts of a daily wellness routine ( Dincharya) . They have following benefits: 1. Oral wellness: a. Enhances oral hygiene. b. Strengthens gums. c. Reduces bad breath and toxins. d. Improves taste perception.  e. Reduces inflammation. Gandusha  involves completely filling the oral cavity with a fluid (herbal decoction, medicated/unmedicated oil,  medicated/unmedicated ghee, honey) and holding it still for a small duration of time.  Duration:  Until one can no longer hold the herbal fluid in the oral cavity OR until one feels that secretions are coming out from eyes and nose. After holding it for such a duration, one should spit it out. Some example fluids that can be used for Gandusha: 1. Til oil. 2. Triphala decoction . 3. Coconut oil. 4. Irimedadi oil. 5.
