Daily regimen (Dincharya): Gandusha and Kavala
Both Gandusha and Kavala are important parts of a daily wellness routine (Dincharya). They have following benefits:
1. Oral wellness:
a. Enhances oral hygiene.
b. Strengthens gums.
c. Reduces bad breath and toxins.
d. Improves taste perception.
e. Reduces inflammation.
Gandusha involves completely filling the oral cavity with a fluid (herbal decoction, medicated/unmedicated oil, medicated/unmedicated ghee, honey) and holding it still for a small duration of time.
Duration: Until one can no longer hold the herbal fluid in the oral cavity OR until one feels that secretions are coming out from eyes and nose. After holding it for such a duration, one should spit it out.
Some example fluids that can be used for Gandusha:
1. Til oil.
2. Triphala decoction.
3. Coconut oil.
4. Irimedadi oil.

Kavala involves filling the oral cavity to a manageable level with a fluid (herbal decoction, medicated/unmedicated oil, medicated/unmedicated ghee, honey) and mechanically gargling/swishing it around.
Duration: for a few minutes.
Some example herbal fluids that can be used for Kavala:
1. Til oil.
2. Triphala decoction.
3. Warm water.
