Grounding techniques that can help one overcome Overthinking and attain balance
Overthinking (~lost in thoughts, absent mindedness, living more in the head) is a common issue faced by many individuals in todays fast pace life.
Following is a list of some Grounding techniques that help an individual to anchor the self and calm down:
1. Sitting with spine straight and breathing calmly in Prithvi mudra.
2. Rhythmmic breathing exercises: For example: 25 Healing breaths (URL) in Prithvi mudra.
3. Wellness routines:
a. Massaging self (Abhyanga) before going to bed or 1 hour before taking a bath with base oils like Sesame (Til) oil or medicated oils like Santulan Abhyanga oil S (to be used in winter), Santulan Abhyanga oil C (to be used in summer).
b. Foot massage (Padabhyanga) before going to bed using plain cow's ghee or medicated ghee like Santulan Padabhyanga ghrita.
c. Walking barefoot in grass in a garden.
